Let’s Create – Playroom Edition

Let’s start a ‘Let’s Create’ series within this blog! This series is going to based all around creating the perfect areas in your home. The first post is going to be all about creating the perfect playroom!

Playrooms are a much-loved room by all children and parents alike. A room for children to have all their toys in one area. A room with multiple uses, but what do you need to create the perfect playroom?

Storage Galore!
One of the first aspects you need to consider when creating a playroom for your children is storage! You will need storage galore in a playroom. Ensure there is enough storage for all of their toys to ensure the playroom can easily be tidied away when finished with. One of our favourite pieces of furniture for storage in playrooms is Kallax units!

Consider Your Children’s Ages
You should always consider the ages of your children when designing them a playroom. Of course, children of different ages will require different things in their playroom. For example, children of school age may want a desk to complete any school work. Whereas younger children would prefer it to be highly focused on toys galore, making it fun for playtime.

Will You Need A Desk?
A commonly asked question is always whether or not you will need a desk in your playroom. We will always recommend you having somewhere for your children to sit either at a desk or table. This makes the perfect area for children to complete arts and crafts. It does not just need to be used for school work.

Colour Scheme
The colour scheme you choose for your playroom is extremely important. You want something that will make the room fun, yet still, run with the theme of your home. It is always good to get children involved in decorating a playroom so they are ready to play in it.

Storage Solutions For My Home

When purchasing a home you can see all of the space. All of the endless opportunities within the home. But once the furniture starts being added into the home, the rooms become smaller, storage space becomes less and less. This is why we are going to share with you some simple storage solutions. Helping you to make the most of the space in your home.

Floating Shelves
One way to make the most out of the space in your home is by considering using the walls. There is so much you can do with your walls, with one of the most common choices being floating shevels. These shelves provide you with space to store some of your smaller items which you may want to have on display. For example, they are perfect for photoframes.

Kallax Unit
Another popular choice for a simple storage solution is Kallax Units. This is a unit that is made up of many squares, with the most common numbers being 4 or 9. These can then be used to store your items in. You can also purchase doors, drawers, and storage boxes for them, helping you to hide away some of the clutter.

Drawers In Wardrobe
One thing people always forget about is the empty space at the bottom of your wardrobe. Drawers in your room do not always need to be on display. You can easily purchase a smaller set of drawers for the bottom of your wardrobe. Giving your more storage which is still hidden away, not taking up any extra room.

Corner Units
Corners are one area that are never used up. No one goes and stands in the corner. So why not make the most of this space and purchase some corner units. These will be perfect for displaying some of your own personal items which you wish for people to see.

These are some of our personal favourite home storage solutions. What ideas will you be using in your home? Do you have any favourites we haven’t discussed, we would love to hear them.

What To Consider When Purchasing Furniture For Your Home

When owning a home, one of the first items you need to consider buying is the large items of furniture. The problem with this is that it can be quite a costly process, with most people not realising how expensive these items are. This is why when purchasing furniture you need to consider all of your options.

Firstly, you always need to consider your budget. Seeing how much you have saved for these items, or how much you can afford as a monthly outgoing. This helps you when heading out shopping so you only look at items that are within your budget.

If you do not have the savings to purchase these items, your next best option is considering finance. A lot of companies which sell furniture will offer you finance without credit checks. Meaning you will be able to purchase these items on finance even if you have a bad credit score.

Purchasing Your First Home

Purchasing your first home can be a very daunting process, with not many first time buyers truly understanding what purchasing a property entails. Today, we are going to share with you what buying a property entails and how to make this less stressful.

Firstly, you will need to have a decent-sized deposit saved up. This is normally 10% of the property value. On top of this, you will need to have money saved up for the goods you wish to purchase for your home, as well as money for solicitor fees.

When purchasing your first home you will also need to hire a solicitor. A solicitor will help you with all of the legal documents which need sorting when purchasing your first home.

Finally, the fun part of purchasing your first home is buying all of your furniture. When buying larger items like sofas or a table there can be a long waitlist so this will need purchasing ahead of time.
